I have seen the pain in her eyes today
she wasn’t crying but her eyes
are telling a different story.
the helpless she is looking
she wants to tell you she
wants to know you
but she knows you are trying to
know someone else.
but this unbound, unwritten, uncommitted bond
she made with you
her eyes say she misses you
will she ever go and tell
you
oh she must
but she won’t
she doesn’t want to feel alone
she doesn’t want to sing the same old song
the path to move on before even trying
but she told me she is good at moving on
she doesn’t know how to stay
how to express
she doesn’t know how to be asked to stay
she has never been asked before.
just for once she wants to be found
for once she wants to be held
instead of sitting on her phone
and checking each one of you
going away with someone else
I don’t know what kind of story god has written for her
but I hope it starts soon
before she gets lost in herself again
and she doesn’t feel the need
to be found and loved again.
